State of the Blue Economy 2023

10 November 2023 | Fremantle

About the Event

The annual State of the Blue Economy Forum convenes leaders from across marine industries, including fishing, energy, engineering, research, tourism, conservation and government. WA’s blue economy is estimated to employ 60,000 people, contribute $25 billion to GSP and is on-track double in size by 2030.

The forum enables the diverse stakeholders to develop a shared understanding of the status, trends in ocean health and dependent economic activities. The forum facilitates alignment and collaborate on priority actions towards the vision of WA being the leading ‘blue’ economy in the Indian Ocean by 2030.

Testimonials

Opportunity to speak with some key relevant stakeholders who would normally be difficult for us to access.
It was interesting for me to have a grasp on the current state of the blue economy in WA, and leave with hope that main players (at least those who attended) see the future of the blue economy as a truly sustainable sector.
The survey of the most important issues form those that attended was very valuable.
